Our Wellbeing Team

The Wellbeing staff, Achok Bieth and Jo Webb run a Crocheting and Knitting club every Wednesday Lunchtime in the CLC. Crocheting is an art where textile is created with a single needle with a hooked edge and yarn. As with knitting, crochet is used to create shawls, sweaters, socks and the like.

Both crocheting and knitting are initially considered as just a hobby for people with lots of free time. It was also known as a popular hobby for old people to put their time to use by making clothes for their loved ones. However, with time, the trends have changed. Crocheting is now popular with different age groups and offers endless possibilities.

Yes, you read that right. Crochet is for all ages! Crocheting and Knitting has many benefits, such as reducing stress and anxiety, relaxes the mind, relieves depression, increases productively, leads to social interactions and connections and., finally, helps to build self-esteem. Our students have enjoyed coming together once a week to build their capacities, make new friends and disconnect from their own concerns and worries. We hope to share our current project with the college when it’s complete.
