Year 9 Textiles students have been busy creating unique "Snack Attack" pillows which not only act as a comfort item but can store movie snacks in their pockets. Students have used applique, pin-tucks, pleats, decorative edging and design elements to create their beautiful designs.

Year 9 and 10 Parents, Carers and Students.

The Educational Pathways Program - Armidale group has an upcoming learning opportunity for students delivered by Future Anything. This program is a two-day, facilitated school entrepreneurship workshop that sparks curiosity, a drive to collaborate with others, and a passion for solving problems that matter to our school and the local community. The program will run over 2 days on Thursday 31 August and Friday 1 September from 9:00am to 3:00pm at the Armidale City Bowling Club.

Information:

By the end of the two days, students will:

  • have an understanding of design thinking methodology to solve problems, including emphasising, ideating, validating, prototyping, and pitching.
  • have developed their capacity to lead themselves and others.
  • have developed their capacity to collaborate and project manage efficiently and effectively.
  • have developed their capacity as storytellers; pitching (and persuading) with purpose.

Please find attached a permission note for parents/carers to complete. Students can return permission notes to the Careers office or you can return them by email to lana.hardman@det.nsw.edu.au .

Lunch will be provided for students, but they will need to bring their morning tea and plenty of water. It would also be appreciated if students would wear school uniforms and bring their curious minds.
