Classroom Happenings

Hello! My name is Caitlin Richardson and I am excited to be completing my placement at Our Lady Help of Christians School, alongside the Preps and Mrs Cumming. I am thrilled to be working in the school community from the 21st of August until the 16th of September. I am currently completing my Master of Teaching (Primary) at Australian Catholic University and will be graduating at the end of this year. In my spare time, I love playing Aussie Rules Footy, listening to music and practicing my cooking skills. I look forward to getting to know the students and helping them with their learning.

While many of the students were at District Athletics last week, those year 3-6 students who were at school started preparing for book week.  We made artwork inspired by the theme "Read, grow, inspire", using copies of pages from some of our students' favourite stories.  We are starting to read some of the shortlisted books for this year's Book of the Year awards and can't wait for Book Week.

The year 3 and 4 students have been studying books by the author Margaret Wild this term.  We have been exploring the use of language devices including similes and created artwork based on the book "Fox" as he "flickered through the trees like a tongue of fire".
