Construction in Focus

The Year 11 students have commenced building their dog kennel project. The project simulates the basic carpentry skills required to build a simple structure such as a cubby house, shed or mini house.

The process will include timber stud walls, flooring, pitching a roof, cladding, lining, sheeting and sheet metal fabrication. The project incorporates the use of seven different fastening methods.

Students can be seen working productively on the stud frames – plates, studs, noggings and cross bracing using both hand and power tools.
