In Numeracy, the Year One classes have been working on various concepts including time, place value, graphs, money and numerical operations. We have seen such fantastic progress and students overcoming challenges. The Year One students should be proud of their achievements.
Over the last few weeks, the Year One students have been revisiting Addition and Subtraction. Both 1A and 1B have been learning different strategies for solving addition and subtraction equations. The students have been working well in these areas and are starting to extend there knowledge by attempting more challenging questions!
The Year One classes have been working in diverse ways in the classroom including working independently, working with a partner, group tasks and small group work with their teacher. In the Year One classrooms, we will continue hold discussions around Mathematics goals for each student to include their voice in the outcomes of their efforts!
In Measurement and Geometry, students created clocks and calendars showing important times and dates of their choice. Creating a calendar was a highlight for a few students who chose to represent their birthdays and used real calendars to figure out how many days each month had to be as accurate as possible.
Thank you all for a great Term Two. The students have done a wonderful job this term and should be proud of all of their achievements and effort. We look forward to another busy term ahead! Rest up and we hope you all enjoy your well deserved break.

Each week, your child will be provided with one hard copy reader to read for the week. We ask that the book is read 2-3 times per week and is logged into your child’s reading diary.
If you would like to read an extra book for the week, your child may login to the MultiLit eLibrary using an electronic device. The eLibrary uses a browser-based platform, so books can be read on desktop computers or mobile devices (including smartphones and tablets). You will find the link to this website and your child’s login details at the front of their reading diary. Alternatively, your child may choose to read a ‘good fit’ book of their choice instead.
Your child’s reading diary and book needs to be brought back to school every Friday morning to be checked and swapped over by your child’s classroom teacher. We kindly ask that all books are taken care of and returned in good condition every Friday.
Please note the following information regarding the days that each grade has specialist classes. * These times are subject to change during school-wide events (eg: swimming timetables) *
