You matter. Unless you multiply yourself times the speed of light squared. Then you energy.

It’s always a busy, hands-on time in the Science room.

Level 3/4 learning:

The 3/4 students have continued to work on their force games, over the last few weeks. By the end of the week they should have a finished game ready to play and ready for others to play. The students have worked really hard to ensure their game has some sort of element of force in it and have been so creative. I have really enjoyed, joining in with the students and playing a few games already. Some have been really challenging!

Next term we will be moving on to studying about Earth or Space. We have already had in depth discussions about what the next unit will look like. The students have chosen what they would like to learn about (we will study the topic that got the most votes) and how they would like to learn about it. I am excited to look at all their ideas over the holidays and put together a unit that they have had a voice in designing!

Level 5/6 learning:

The 5/6 students have continued to study light, over the last few weeks. We finished our unit by making Glow in the Dark bubbles. This was lots of fun. The students mixed highlighter ink and water with bubbles, dishwashing liquid and Glycerin. The dishwashing liquid and Glycerin were added to make the bubbles stronger so that we could examine the bubbles under a UV light. With the lights off and the UV torches shining on the bubbles, we could really see a glow!

We have also talked about what we will be studying next term and how the students would like to learn about either Earth or Space. There have been some really exciting ideas and I’m looking forward to implementing them into my plan.
