Regional Cross Country

On Wednesday 14th June, Matilda, Tahlia and Alfred qualified to compete at the Regional Cross Country Championships held at Hastings foreshore. What an incredible achievement to make it to this level of competition.

All three competitors showed their determination, hard work and sportsmanship and we couldn't be more proud of them.

Matilda placed 23rd and Tahlia placed 39th.

Alfred came 3rd and has qualified to compete at the State Cross Country event to be held in July at the Yarra Valley Racing Club. We wish Alfred all the best.

Girls Football and Boys Netball

On Wednesday 7th June our 5/6 students represented St Joseph's at our annual Girls Football and boys Netball competition. What an incredible day they had.

The weather forecast wasn't looking very promising but this didn't deter the excitement and team spirit.

The girls football was amazing to watch! With the girls just missing out on the grand final due to their percentage. A big thankyou to Sarah (Raine's Mum), Nick K and Adam (Evie's Dad) for coaching the girls.

The Boys Netball was also an exciting day, with many of the boys showing their incredible talent. A big thank-you to Sarah P, Sue-Anne (Seb Mum) and Fi Barry for coaching the boys.

Winter Lightning Premierships

Congratulations and thank-you to our incredible 5/6 students (and a few year 4 students) for the outstanding way in which they played and represented St Joseph's at the Winter Lightning Premierships on Friday.

Our students competed in 3 different sports against our rival Phillip District schools, including boys football, mixed soccer and girls netball. These days aren't all about competition but also about team spirit, having a go and sportsmanship. A big thank-you to our staff members Nick, Ryan and Sarah for your help and support. We also wanted to thank our fabulous parents Andrew, Sarah F, Sarah W, Jannica, Fi and Ahla for their coaching.

AFL FOOTBALL WORKSHOP

I am extremely excited to let you all know that I have organised each class to be involved in 2 AFL football sessions run by AFL players (sorry I am unsure yet who they are sending) during their PE lesson in week 1 and week 2 next term.
