From the Principal's Desk

Principal News:

Welcome to Week 10!

What a great term we have had.  We hope you have a relaxing holiday and we look forward to seeing students back at school on Tuesday 18th July.

Martin's Gully Facebook:

Martin's Gully now has a school Facebook page to keep our school and wider community informed.

The page is in it's very early stages, however we look forward to utilising it as an extra form of communication next term.

Go follow and like our page and share with your friends;  @MartinsGullyPS  · School

Keeping our children safe on social media: TikTok, YouTube, Instagram:

Please see the information regarding this great Webinar the P&C Association are offering further on in the Gulgos.

Every parent needs to be aware and informed of how to support our young people and their use of social media.

Athletics Carnival:

Yesterday we held our athletics carnival.  Everyone had a wonderful time and the sportsmanship and school and sporting houses enthusiasm was fantastic.

A huge thank you to all parents who helped assist with the running of the carnival.

Kindergarten 2024:

Parents who are enrolling their children in Kindergarten for 2024 should complete an online enrolment form or come into the office and collect an enrolment form.

This is for in-zone enrolments, out of zone enrolments and for siblings of students who attend our school now.

Our numbers are growing quickly for Kindergarten 2024 so please do this ASAP.  Thanks!

PAX Word of the Fortnight: WELLBEING

You can enhance your wellbeing by:

1. Getting outside and moving!

2. Forming positive relationships with friends and family.

3. Keeping screen time to a minimum.

4. Developing mindfulness skills.

5. Getting plenty of sleep.

6. Eating healthy foods and drinking water.

Crazy Hair and Crazy Sock Day :

On our last day of school this Friday 30th June, the SRC will be holding a crazy hair and crazy sock day to raise funds for childhood cancer research. You can go crazy with loony locks and silly socks ! Be bright and colourful and help raise awareness and funds by doing something fun for a serious cause. All it takes is some crazy socks and loopy hair to get involved. Students are asked to bring a gold coin donation to school on the day.

Attendance Matters:

We have set our school a target to achieve 90% attendance 90% of the time for 2023.

Can you help us do this? Coming to school each day between 8:30am and 9:00am and leaving at 3pm is just a simple way we can achieve this together. Let's do this together.

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
