CURRICULUM FOCUS

In Writing this week we are learning about the features of a Procedural Text and how to write one. 


VOCABULARY

Procedural Text: Instructs someone how to do or make something. For example: Recipes, Making a Shelf, etc.

 

Features: The individual parts that make up a text. For example: Title, Materials, Steps.

 

Title: Name of a book, recipe or instructions.

 

Materials/Ingredients: things you need to make a recipe or to build something. For example: eggs, milk or nails and a hammer.

 

Steps: The order to complete a recipe or to build. For example, Step 1: Crack the eggs.


ACTIVITIES YOU CAN DO AT HOME TO SUPPORT YOUR CHILD'S LEARNING

Look at the picture below, try to write down a Title, Materials/Ingredients and Equipment that you would need for this recipe. 

 

Try to create an exciting title!
