Year 9 Camp
Year 9 Forest Edge Camp
During week 5 of term 2, the year 9 cohort had a lovely camp trip down at Forest Edge where they got the opportunity to disconnect from devices and connect with their surroundings.
With many memories made for the students and teachers and everyone participating in many of the fun activities including things such as African drumming and an eye-opening conversation with the mentor Pete from Tritactic’s. During the time away students were provided with freshly cooked meals alongside a daily raffle with prizes which rewarded their enthusiastic behaviour that demonstrated all of the Parkdale 5 P’s. During down time, the year 9’s were able to form new connections with their peers using the rec/sports room. Additionally, in the evenings everyone got together and enjoyed trivia night, movie night and wrote meaningful letters to their future selves which they will open on year 12 camp.
Overall, it was a memorable experience for everyone involved and the students look forward to the next adventure.
We would like to thank all of the teachers who volunteered their time to come on camp and a special mention to Ms Wilson who managed the whole camp for the week.
