Careers Term 1 Update

Year 9

Look out for the Morrisby testing coming up in March. Morrisby is a free program offered by the Department of Education and Trainting to all Year 9s to help them uncover career, subject and pathway ideas. It’s an aptitude test and will gauge your skills, interests and ideas to give you a good picture about what careers and subjects you might consider from Year 10 onwards. All Year 9s are expected to take part.

Year 10

Careers has posted the EDSC work experience instructions on Compass. All Year 10s are expected to complete work experience. At this stage we are going ahead with work experience in week 10 of Term 3.

Students are expected to have completed and submitted their OH&S Certificates by the end of Term 1 and have sourced an employer by the end of Term 2.

I will be coming around to classes and discussing tips and tricks to gain a placement.

Year 11

Careers sessions will be happening for Year 11 in Term 2. Look out for the Careers Expo early in Term 3.

Year 12

Careers sessions will be happening for Year 12 in Term 1. Look out for the Careers Expo early in Term 3; around the same time the VTAC process begins.

General

Students and parents are more than welcome to book an individual appointment with myself in the Careers Office to discuss pathways and subjects.

Students are also welcome to book their own appointments and pop into the Careers Office at recess, lunchtime and before and after school.
