First lessons for beginner Musicians – Places still available

Following Music Information Night last week, the response from students wanting to start a musical instrument has been fantastic and most instruments are now full.

We do, however, still have a very limited number of places on Clarinet and Trumpet.

If you are interested in trying out either of these instruments, talk to the Music staff and we will organise a time for you to do so. You don’t need to sign up to anything, just come to the Performing Arts Centre and have a go!

Students who have been successful in gaining a place on an instrument should by now have been notified through a Compass Newsfeed. There have been some technical glitches so if you put in a form with your preferences and haven’t been notified, check your Compass schedule to see if you have a new class popping up on your timetable either this week or next.  If you click on that class, all the releveant information will be in the Newsfeed.

With the lockdown this week some lessons have had to be postponed but our aim is to fit in at least one lesson before Year 7 Camp.

The Instrumental Music levy should now be appearing as an Event on Compass for parents to pay, and we would appreciate prompt settlement of this amount.

Secondhand Viola For Sale

15.5-inch Chamber Student Viola, excellent new condition $450.

This instrument will suit a slightly taller viola player. If you are interested in this instrument, please notify Mr Carl Williams and he will make sure that it is of an appropriate size before promising a sale.
