P.E WITH LEIGH
The end of this term is approaching. The kids in all year levels have settled back into routines and beginning to develop their skills and social understanding.
The focus for the Foundation and 1/2 students has been simple build group cohesion and settle into familiar games. The skills focus has been basic ball skills and hand eye coordination. The children’s favourites have been farmer Sam, mushroom tag and crazy tag.
The 3/4 students have been working on their fitness through running activities with a key focus on relays and sprints. This will lead into second terms cross country and third terms athletics. Most of the children have improved fitness being back at school.
The 5/6 students have finished first term inter school sport and are now preparing for winter sports in second term. The students will be learning to play football, soccer, netball and this will be played as a gala day in second term. The winners of this event will be decided on the day and will then prepare for the divisional competition. Cross country will also be in second term for Year 3 children up to Year 6. The trials will begin early second term.
It’s looking like most sports events will be back to normal and this will mean the children will have a lot more choices of fun activities to be involved in. I’m looking forward to second terms sporting activity.
Lastly the swimming program for the foundation children begins on Monday April the 19th and the 1/2s and 3/4s will follow soon after.
Thanks Everyone
Leigh
