Principal's News

Our theme for this year is

STEP UP! BE MORE!

Dear Parents,

Our first Open Day was a great success on Friday. We had a steady stream of families coming through and did not get a break for the two hours - which is exactly what we wanted. There were many families that seemed genuinely interested in joining us, who were looking for a smaller community minded school. Thanks for your efforts with delivering flyers and doing Google reviews for us. I have been overwhelmed with the number of families agreeing to help in our push to increase enrolments this year. THANK-YOU! We will get the flyers out to those who have asked for them ASAP!

Thanks to our wonderful PFA mums who organised a very successful crazy day lunch of Fish n Chips for our community on Friday. Yummy!

WORKING BEE:

We have our first (of only 2) working bee for the year on Friday 19th March between 3.30 - 5.30 p.m. followed by pizzas and drinks. Please send your RSVP back to school asap so we can organise catering accordingly. We would love to see you there. Many hands make light work!!!!

HARMONY DAY:

We will be celebrating Harmony Day on Wednesday 17th March between 11.30 and 1.30 p.m. with some special activities. Please read the section about Harmony Day later in the newsletter so you have all the necessary details. Children are invited to wear orange on the day as this is the colour of Harmony Day.

WELCOME BBQ:

The new date for our Welcome BBQ is Wednesday 31st March. Please send back your RSVP as soon as possible so we can organise the catering accordingly. We would love to see you all there and have some lovely sausages and burgers with all the trimmings ready for your dinner and some fun for the children to have.

BUNNINGS BBQ:

Thanks to all those who came along and helped at our Bunnings BBQ last Sunday. Please checkout the PFA news to see what a great result was achieved thanks to the generous donations of time, goods and money.  An enormous thank-you must go to Bakers Delight at Macedon Plaza who donated all the bread for our BBQ and delivered it. We are very lucky to have such a great relationship with our local businesses and encourage all our families to reciprocate by supporting Bakers Delight in Macedon Plaza with their custom.

SACRAMENT INFORMATION:

Please check your emails today for the booking information you need to select the date and time of the Sacrament your child is undertaking this year. Please make sure you book today as the booking information will be opened up to the wider parish tomorrow.

If you did not receive an email please contact Robyn in the office on 9273 9999 asap.

BAKE STALL:

Congratulations to the girls in 3/4/5 (and their families) who baked lots of goodies and managed to raise over $360 to donate to Manuel Duato School our sister school in Lima Peru. Thanks also to Chloe's dad who donated many items for the stall from his Ferguson Plarre store at the Victoria Market.

NEW STAFF MEMBER:

I am pleased to announce we have employed a pastoral care worker/school chaplain for approximately 10 hours per week to help build on the wellbeing and connectedness of all students in our school. Chiara Campagna will commence with us next week. She has a degree in psychological science and impressed not only our staff interview panel but also our 3/4 interview panel. Chiara will be combining her work in our school with her ongoing studies to become a fully qualified psychologist. If you see her around the school - please make her feel very welcome - as I know you always do.

  • You are very welcome to come into the office and direct all inquiries/messages  to Robyn, but please do not enter the learning spaces.

STUDENT ABSENCE REQUIREMENTS

MAJOR ROAD WORKS IN OUR AREA:

I was contacted earlier in the week by the project manager of a company that is doing major roadworks in the area. These road works are an ongoing 3 year project and will cause disruption to traffic flow around the area. I will get updates from the company from time to time and share them with you in our newsletter so that you know what is happening and what areas to avoid. Please check the community news section of our newsletter for further updates.

2022 ENROLMENTS:

If you are aware of anyone who has a child starting prep in 2022  please encourage them to contact us for an enrolment pack. If you have a child starting school in 2022 - feel free to access the enrolment form on our website or by accessing the link below.

Kindest regards
