Hot Chilli Red

Will Merrin most entertainingly presented our latest musical instrument to the Senior School student and staff body at this week’s Assembly.  As Millie Davidson introduced, the Hot Chilli Red Casio Privia Electric Piano was awarded to the College as the sponsors prize following the Musica Viva, Stirke a Chord National Chamber Music Competition in which the College’s music program was recognised for its depth and quality in Chamber Music.  The Senior String Quartet and Senior Piano Trio took part in the competition at the end of last year and the Chamber Music program continues with string students and ensembles working towards upcoming performance workshops with Andrea Keeble (MSO Violin).  The Chamber Choir, Festival Voices, represents the vocalists in the Chamber Music Program under the new baton of Mr Craig Everingham.

Will’s performance included a Chopin Etude, shout outs to the audience and even a selfie.

Junior and Senior School families are alerted that there are currently some places available for Brass and Woodwind tuition and Senior School students are informed that individual and small group theory lessons are now available. Enquiries about music lessons and participation in ensembles may be directed to the Director of Music.
