Editor's Note:  Year 10 Diary Cover and Fossicker Cover Designs

Each year, as part of their classwork the Year 10VCD classes have been given a brief to design covers for both the College Diary and Fossicker. Some of these designs are showcased as headers in both this and the previous newsletter.

Zart Art Copic Marker Incursion at KSC

Tania, from Zart Art, came to KSC to give a hands-on experience to the Year 12 VCD class on how to use copic markers.

Tania started off by providing a brief rundown of the various types of copic markers available and explained the impact copic markers can have for design work to achieve effective renderings. Students were shown how to use the copics where they learnt how to overlay, use a feathering approach, overlapping and the use of vertical and horizontal lines to achieve tone and depth. Students experimented with these techniques and then applied this to one of their own drawings - an Isometric drawing of a kitchen appliance.

After the 90 minute session, students were able to produce very successful results. Well done 12VCD and thank you to Tania from Zart Art.

Arts Space - lunchtime activity for students

Arts Space occurred last Thursday with 15 participants. We did some free drawing, with a focus on the use of the line of action to create dynamic poses, along with a focus on how to draw a face. If you want to learn how to improve your drawing skills, paint, or express your creativity, feel free to show up at room 34 every Thursday at lunch!

Art Space Thursday 4 March

It was great to see so many students participate on our first Arts Space session for the year which was on Thursday 4 March 2021

Erin and Jazz gave a super session on how to practice, improve and enjoy drawing. We used mannequins as a focal point to inspire the students which allowed students to be creative and  display some amazing drawing skills.

Please join us every Thursday in room 34 at lunchtime for Arts Space.  Everyone is welcome to bring their lunch and join the session.

Arts Space- Thursday 25 March

Thanks to Arts Captains Jasmine and Erin for running Arts Space.

This week we had a large group of students attend who were very busy creating paper embellished key rings. Jazz and Erin had shown the students who participated in Arts Space for that week how to create interesting designs using collage, watercolour pencils, coloured pencils, inks, dyes  and textas. Students used a combination of methods and media to create their own distinctive design to incorporate into a key ring.

Have a look at these videos to viewwhat Jazz and Erin created with the Arts Space students
