Principal's Report

I wanted to begin this week’s newsletter by thanking all parents for their support, our staff for staying back on Friday night to get something prepared for our students and our children for constantly being so resilient.

In the slim chance this is to happen again we are preparing for it and ensuring we are able to provide the best support and learning opportunities.

School Council

This week we had our first school council meeting for the year.  This was an excellent opportunity to look at our new Annual Implementation Plan, our enrolment projections for the next 5 years and our oval upgrade!

As per DET policy, school council has begun working with the VSBA (Victorian School’s Building Authority) to develop a Scope of Works and estimated costings.  The next steps in the process is to develop a business plan and hopefully get the go ahead to go to tender.  We will keep you updated on the progress throughout the year.

Safety in the Slip Lane

I urge you not to call your child out into the slip lane to jump in the car.  It is an incredibly irresponsible and dangerous way to save time.  Over the years I have seen far too many near misses not to mention this.

Please use the correct pick up area which is identified by orange cones.  We have 2 staff members there ensuring students are getting into their car safely.

Please support me ensuring the safety of our students.

Our Prep – 2 Assembly

On Monday we handed out our P-2 leadership badges.  I could not have imagined in Prep being confident enough to put my hand up to take on a leadership role.  Well done everyone who was presented with their sustainability badge.

Congratulations to the following students:

Some House Keeping

As per our child Safe Standards here at school adults/high school students are not permitted to use student toilet facilities.  If you do require a toilet please come into the office as there is one right next to the office that you may use.

Port of Call

Remember, if there are any issues that you need to discuss with the school; the first port of call is always the classroom teacher. Usually they are the ones best equipped to help out.  Should your issue not be resolved then the next port of call is one of our assistant principals, Mrs Pepper or Mr Balzary.  They will also ask if you have spoken with the class teacher to try to resolve the issue.  Of course Mr Moorhouse is also here to help once the appropriate channels have been followed.

Have a great week,

Mark Moorhouse
