 Heidi (Konmoyt Snakes Captain)

Hi my name is Heidi,

I have always wanted to be a house captain but I was super scared to make a speech.

Year 6 is so much fun! I have two dogs and two cats. I love my Golden Labrador and playing cricket. I have a sister Ruby and she is in Year 7. For Lightning Prems I am playing cricket. My favourite sports are netball, soccer and swimming. I am the youngest person in the family including my cousins. In my spare time, I am always on my trampoline or doing art. My favourite subjects at school are PE, Art, Music and Maths. I am really excited for the year coming.

Go Konmoyt Snakes!

 Emma (Konmoyt Snakes Captain)

Hi my name is Emma and I am super excited to be a Konmoyt Snakes captain, especially with a good friend Heidi. I am excited for this year being in year 6 and also being a singer in the school band. I can't wait for the year 6 Camp! I am the youngest in my family, we love adventure, camping, surfing and travelling. We have 3 horses and I love riding and competing with Pony Club. I am super excited for this year and look forward to collaborating with everyone.

   Melanie Matherson (Foundation MM Teacher)

Hi! My name is Mel Matherson and I am teaching the beautiful preppies this year at OGPS. Last year was my first year here and I love my job because not only is the progress you see from the beginning to the end of the year phenomenal, the children put a smile on my face everyday (even when a preppy tells you that you have “really bad circles under your eyes!”). I grew up in Ballarat, lived in London, moved to Melbourne and then settled here at the end of 2019. I feel so grateful to live here that I bought a block at the end of last year and can’t wait to finish the build! I have a 14 month old groodle named Herbie who’s obsessed with socks and chewing my hair scrunchies but he also loves the beach and a good cuddle. I’ve always loved to travel and am looking forward to going on more adventures locally, exploring this amazing country of ours. It’s always hard to pick just one but my favourite food would be pasta, favourite band Fleetwood Mac, favourite colour lilac and very importantly, I go for the Bombers! I have a bit of a shopping problem, love to cook (and eat!), enjoy a hit of tennis and am happiest when I’m with my friends and family.

Richard Hughes (Physical Education Teacher)

G’day, I’m Richard Hughes and I teach Physical Education and coordinate all school and inter school sports. I began teaching in 1977 when blackboards were still being used.

I have been at OGPS since 2007 and have loved every single minute of it…..nearly.  I live in Jan Juc with my wife Robyn and at one stage four cats ! We don’t have any cats now so my two daughters Krissy and Beccy have replaced them with four grandchildren for us. I played as many sports as I could when I was younger and was lucky enough to play in nine premierships in football before I got too old. Now I love watching any sports on TV. I still play golf up to three times a week and have now got Robyn interested in it enough for us to travel about and play as much as we can. Enjoy school, I still think it was the best years of my life because I never really left.
