Swimming Sports by:

Charlie Gardiner (5LB)

FFWEEEEETT! The whistle sounded and I pushed off the wall, ferociously speeding into the middle of the pool. Water splattered into my mouth as I splashed towards the finish line. I heaved myself onto the wall wheezing, looking up I saw a lady leaning down and handing me a card, I looked down in delight and said a quiet ‘Yesss! First.’

The air was warm as I walked to get my hat and re-apply, only one more race I thought...breaststroke.

I hopped into the freezing water and clumsily got ready to start, the whistle sounded once again and I awkwardly splashed towards the end bobbing and down, in and out. Looking up I saw two people already finished, ‘not bad’ I told myself as I got out.

The bus rumbled back towards school and I listened to the  endless chatter of 46 kids babbling about the marvellous day we had by the pool.

Administration Matters

CONVEYANCE ALLOWANCE 2021

Families can apply for a Conveyance Allowance if they need to drive a significant distance to connect with the free school bus. If families live 4.8 kilometres or more from the nearest school bus stop, they may receive a conveyance allowance to assist with the travel costs of using their private car to transport children to the bus.

A private car conveyance allowance is not available if the journey could have been made using a free school bus. Application forms for the Conveyance Allowance are available at the school office and should be completed ASAP

FAMILY FEE ASSISTANCE SCHEME 2021

Parents/Carers who hold a valid Concession card may claim a reduction in their tuition fees.  If you think you would be eligible please contact the school office for details.

A copy of your Concession card is required

ALL CHILDREN MUST REPORT TO THE SCHOOL OFFICE FOR THE FOLLOWING SITUATIONS:

*arriving late to school

BUS TRAVEL

Occasionally it may be that you might need your child to travel on a country bus, or on a different country bus than the one normally travelled upon. In these instances, you must apply for a country bus pass, see Kerrie O’Connor at the Colac Secondary College Office, (as the CSC is the bus  coordinating school), preferably the day prior to travel so that the relevant pass can be  issued. This Bus Pass is then forwarded to our Office for your child to present to the driver on the day of travel.

Please note students cannot be issued bus passes for sporting purposes (football/netball training) or for going to a friend’s house.

MEDICINES AT SCHOOL

From time to time children may be required to take a prescribed medication during the school day.  Our teachers and administration staff are happy to assist in this area, however, we need to be extremely careful with medicines, as I’m sure parents can appreciate. To this end parents must complete a written form detailing dosage, timing etc. This form is available on our website or from the school office. I would recommend dropping into school with the form. A face to face chat about giving your child a prescribed medication is preferable, I’m sure for all parties.

PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL HATS ARE CLEARLY LABELLED
PLEASE MAKE SURE ALL HATS ARE CLEARLY LABELLED

Children are required to wear their school hats during all outside activities. Please make sure all hats are clearly labelled with your child's first and last names.

UNIFORM SHOP

Due to government restrictions our Uniform shop can only operate on an appointment basis.  You can call our office at anytime to schedule an appointment.

If you are unable to attend on Uniform day, Richelle will still be available to take your orders by phoning on a Friday during our uniform shop hours which are 10am - 12noon.  From there you will place your order and payment will be made at that time.

All orders will be packed and sent home each Friday with your child.

Alternatively, you can download the order form from our website, Skoolbag app, or your PAM account via ‘knowledge bank’.  Complete the form and send it with the correct money with your child or phone for payment on Friday.

If sizing is an issue, you are able to send clothing back (still with tags) and it will be swapped over for you...children are unable to be called up to office to be sized for clothing anymore.

We thank you for your cooperation.
