Working together to achieve great things
Working together to achieve great things
A huge thank you to Grace, Katia, Mina, Cynthia, Amelia, Aleyna and Bianca on joining the Year 8 Assembly Crew. Students will work closely with their Year Advisers and Deputy Principal to ensure the entire cohort is up to date with all relevant information regarding school activities, important dates and special year group initiatives. Students will be in charge of meeting agendas and the overall organisation. This is the type of leadership that Year 8 is all about! Working hard together to achieve great things.
What a fantastic team. Well done!
Year 8 took part in a talk presented by Senior Constable Robert MacFarlane, Youth Officer of the Liverpool City Police Command Area. The talk explored the dangers of young users' behaviour around social media and focused on key elements such as staying safe online, understanding privacy, common mistakes by young people when using social media, criminal behaviour and where to go if young people would like advice or to report something.
Over the last couple of weeks, Year 8 has also explored ways to stay safe online throughout their Connect lessons. They have designed online safety posters and discussed together ways they can enjoy social media, whilst ensuring their safety as their number one priority.
We are so fortunate to have a large innovative classroom for our Year 8 English lessons. Over the last few weeks, 8B have been reading the novel, A Monster Calls and have been working together to break down and analyse each chapter.
The students of Year 8B particularly enjoy moving to the back of the classroom where they have the ability to sit on the comfy couches and use the area as their “super cool” learning space. I am extremely proud of how well the students work together and bounce ideas off each other. Well done 8B! Keep up the great work.
