Current COVID-19 Guidelines

Please find below a reminder of the latest COVID-19 guidelines for schools. As soon as we receive updates this will be shared with parents and carers.

Visitors to KWS

Parents and carers who are coming in to school to meet with a member of staff should sign in at Main Reception where they will be met by the staff member.
Parents/carers can enter school grounds to pick-up and drop-off their children without needing to sign in as visitors.
Parents and carers should not come on to school grounds if they are experiencing flu-like symptoms.

Assemblies

Currently we are not able to have parents in attendance at Assemblies due to space requirements under the guidelines.

Boarding

Boarding Houses still remain off-limits to non-residential staff and non-residential students.
Additional information about the end of Term 1 / start of Term 2 logistics will be shared by Mr Anthony Begg.

School Events

Events will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis to ensure that we are compliant with the guidelines regarding physical distancing etc.
Specific information and plans will be shared by the staff coordinating these events.

Students who are unwell

If a student is sick, they must not come to school. They must remain at home and away from others. It is imperative that if students are displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 then they should be tested at a COVID-19 clinic.
The negative COVID-19 test result must be sighted and received by the school – parents must send this to reception@kws.nsw.edu.au before students / staff return to school.

As we near the end of Term 1, please find below the dates for Term 2 and information regarding the long-weekend.

Term 2

Monday 19 April – Boarders return
Tuesday 20 April – All students return for commencement of lessons.
Friday 11 June – Pupil free day / Boarders’ travel day
Monday 14 June – Queen’s Birthday and Boarders return
Friday 18 June – Last day of Term 2

New stock is steadily being delivered to the Uniform Shop for our winter sports season and the Online Store is also being updated as stock becomes available. We continue to face some supply problems on some items but please be assured that we are working hard to resolve these issues quickly and cost-effectively for our families.

The daily program at Gowrie NSW Kinross Wolaroi is an action-packed schedule of hands-on creativity, exploration, investigation, and fun! From art & drama to science and sports, music, environmental projects and more.

Our program is built on positive interactions, enriching experiences, and provides a safe, happy and empowering environment. It is guided by ‘My Time, Our Place’, the National Curriculum Framework for School Age Care in Australia and revised each school holiday period - built on children’s interests, their input and developmental age. The program includes a mix of incursions, excursions and in-house activities.
