State Swimming Championships

From Ben, Sports Coordinator

Congratulations Tiffany

As a school, we congratulate the wonderful efforts of Tiffany (6C) at the SSV State Swimming Championships last week. Competing in both the freestyle and butterfly events, Tiffany swam personal best times in both races and we are extremely proud of Tiffany and her achievements. In freestyle, Tiffany finished in 5th position. However, in her butterfly event, Tiffany finished in 2nd place, winning a silver medal!!

Congratulations Tiffany on your incredible achievements and results. Thank you also to Tiffany’s family for supporting her and transporting her to and from her events!

Tiffany & Edie

On Tuesday Edie, Michael and I went to Regionals for swimming in Geelong which was really far away. The warm-up was quite stressful because I was running late but then the races started happening and I was in the first event. I had freestyle and the feeling of touching the wall first was sensational. I got to stand on the podium, and they took a picture of me and the other competitors. I was so happy because I finally made it all the way.

My next race was butterfly which I felt really confident about because I had been training really hard. But first I had to cheer Edie on for breaststroke. Edie said that her day was really fun, especially watching everyone compete but especially Michael and Tiffany. Edie competed in breaststroke and came 6th in my race and 8th overall, she was so proud of herself for getting into regionals. Michael raced in the backstroke and butterfly. He went really well and placed second in both races which mean that he just missed out on going to state. Michael was feeling nervous at the start of the day but by his second race was feeling better.

Overall, it was a really fun day and we are all looking forward to competing again next year.
