Term 1: Career News

The first term has been a busy one for students looking to explore their career preferences and options.  It has been great to get back out into the community and take part in some face-to-face events and excursions.

On March 8, International Women’s Day, a number of students tuned into a Women in the Workplace webinar organized by BGKLLEN. This was a great opportunity for students to hear from women working in different workplaces and their career journeys, successes and challenges.

On Tuesday March 22 some of our Year 11 and 12 students attended the Yakult facility for an industry immersion day.  This event was targeted towards students interested in food studies, food production on a commercial scale, nutrition and lab work. Students toured the facility, took part in some immersive food production and lab technician activities and explored the promotion a healthy diet, lifestyle and habits.  This industry immersion was organized by Monash Tech School and South Oakleigh College is looking forward to involving students in their other career education events throughout the year.
