Beth with Principal Justin Hird

Principal Appointed

It is with pleasure that I can announce that Justin Hird has been appointed Principal at CSC.

Justin has been Acting Principal a few times, but mainly since Paul Frye resigned, and then our interim Acting Principal Simon Wood took up a position at another school.

Justin applied for the position and after our selection and interview process was finished, we were very happy to be able to offer him the position. He accepted with great relish and I know he is more than eager to get in there and start working hard for staff, our students and their families.

Buildings and Grounds

We have a new set of shade sails coming, as funded by the Victorian government. They will be going outside the canteen to shade students when they are queuing to buy lunch, as well as covering the entire centre area of the school. We will be putting extra seating in this area to create a lovely eating area.

Further funding applications are pending for landscaping around the new buildings, including shade trees, stay tuned for working bees to help us plant!

Sustainability

e-waste: Don’t forget we have a free e-waste facility at the school, where you can drop off batteries, old phones, and small electrical equipment. Please don’t leave anything that doesn’t fit through the holes in the top of the container – you can’t leave TVs!

If you want to help out with taking e-waste to the tip, please contact me. Thanks to parent Bethia Lord for helping out with this task.

Pen recycling: We also have the capacity to collect old pens, leave them at the office for recycling.

Nude food: there is still too much food packaging being left around the school grounds. Please talk to students about using the bins appropriately or taking packaging home with them.
