TRAINEE OPPORTUNITY

Work & Training in conjunction with our valued Host Business John Paul II Catholic Primary School are  seeking a trainee to undertake this exciting Full-Time Certificate III in Horticulture traineeship. 

 

Working on-site and undertaking a nationally recognised qualification, the successful applicant will  have exposure to all aspects of gardening and general maintenance required to maintain the upkeep  of the school grounds and infrastructure. 

 

Duties include but are not limited to: 

• Mowing lawns, weeding and planting of garden beds, 

• Pruning and spraying, 

• General maintenance,  

• Deliveries on and offsite, 

• Assemblies and functions set-up and pack down (on and offsite) 

• Maintenance of school grounds e.g. emptying bins,  

 

Desired attributes: 

• A genuine interest in the Horticulture industry, 

• Excellent oral communication skills and the ability to interact with students, parents and  teachers, 

• The ability to show initiative, work independently and contribute to the team environment, • Be physically fit and have a sound understanding of WH&S practices, 

• Be supportive of and maintain the Catholic ethos of the school. 

 

The successful applicant will be required to hold a current Working with Vulnerable People card  (Employment) and a National Police Check for this position.
