It seems like an eternity ago the events of Mr Corcoran's health scare. Having said that, I have not had the opportunity to formally say thank you for your kind words of support.
A special thanks to Reagan Forbes (teacher) who was the first responder who kept her cool, Jessica Haigh (parent) who was in the right place at the right time, Narelle Trafford (staff) who cared for Brendan at a moment of vulnerability and staff and students who kept calm and put in action what needed to be done.
Mr Corcoran is recovering well and has a new lease on life. He thoroughly enjoys his role at the school and the community spirit he has surrounding him.

Mothers Day; community feedback
Just a note to thank all those who organised the Mothers’ Day breakfast today. What an amazing spread! I enjoyed the Principal’s welcome and Shirley’s talk. My Grandchild, started at the school this term. It was a lovely opportunity for me to visit the school. Many thanks

School Council met on Wednesday 6th April online. Some notables discussions points include:
- Student leader presentation by Kya P. and Adna S.
- Confirmation of a fence being installed between CSPS and neighbours (Browns Road) to increase security and privacy
- Education Report focusing on Writing
- Number of COVID positive cases (staff and students) and impact on school and schooling
- Positive Start Government Initiative
Child Safe - new standards
The new Child Safe standards come into effect on 1 July 2022. Schools must update their child safety strategies, policies, and practices by 1 July to comply with the new standards. Ministerial Order 1359 provides the framework for child safety in schools. It replaces Ministerial Order 870.
CSPS Child Safe leaders and ‘champions’ are busy working behind the scenes to ensure compliance. Key staff are attending webinars to be able to lead workshops and presentations with staff, School Council and visitors/volunteers More information to follow.
