WHAT’S COMING UP-

The Easter Raffle

One of the highlights of term 1 is the Easter raffle which will be drawn on the last day of the term. Parents are welcome to join us as we conduct the raffle draw on the oval commencing at 1:40pm.

If you haven’t already done so, there’s still time to donate Easter goodies and sell raffle tickets.

FREE DRESS DAY – GOLD COIN DONATION

Every year, on the last day of the term, students are allowed to wear casual clothes in exchange for bringing a donation to support charity.

In Term one, we always support the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal and in Term 3 we raise money for State Schools Relief. The other two charities are selected by the Student Representative Council.

LIBRARY UPGRADE

Each year, when making contributions to school fees, parents are invited to make a tax deductible donation to the Library Fund and to the Building Maintenance Fund.

Over the years, the library fund has accumulated and we are now about to refurbish the library.

During the April school holidays, the library will be painted and new carpet installed. We are hopeful that parents may consider contributing to the library fund, if you haven’t done so already, so that we can also purchase new shelving.

Our goal is to make the library a vibrant hub where students have access to a range of technology and information resources. We’d love to see the library constantly in use with classes where teachers support learners to seek appropriate information and use sound methods of inquiry to question the information they find and to use and deepen their searching and research skills.

The library will also be an inviting place for students to enjoy quiet time over the second half of the lunch breaks.

Parent contributions to the library and building funds ensure that our school is not only well maintained, but enables us to improve and modernise our facilities.

If you would like to make a tax deductible donation, please contact the office.

LAST DAY OF TERM

Don’t forget the last day of the term is Friday 8 April, closing at 2:30pm.

Thanks to all of our families, students and staff for a wonderful term 1 and we look forward to whatever term 2 may bring, with new learning styles, a new library and plenty of action.

Please all look after each other, be kind and I look forward to when we are together again at MPS next term.
