Principal's Message

Diverse ~ Accepting ~ Inclusive Community

Dear Parents and Guardians,

Welcome to Term 2 and it was wonderful to see so many parents attend our All Houses Meet and Greet Breakfast this morning. Taking advantage of these opportunities to meet with your children's teachers is so worthwhile and gives both parties greater insight and understanding and opens the door for easier communication into the future.

Sadly you will be aware, College Life Governor and past College Board Chairman, Dr Charles Butcher passed away during the holidays, and his Celebration of Life service was held on Tuesday at the Alice Springs Cemetery.

Charles' contribution to our college, town, region and country was impressive and he was greatly admired by so many, and in many ways I wish I had known him longer.

It is people of Charles' calibre who our children should be admiring; taking note of how they lived their life, their loyalty and the service and contribution they provided to their community. Our thoughts and prayers are with Laurel, their children, family and friends and the College will be holding it's own memorial service later in May. I encourage you to read about Charles' life in this week's newsletter.

Thank you and Be Kind Always,

~ Mr Roger Herbert
