ABCN Future Thinkers

The Australian Business Council Network (ABCN) ran a two-session program for some of our Year 9 and Year 10 students recently, focused on developing thinking and problem-solving skills.  The students worked in conjunction with mentors from BlueScope Steel to develop potential solutions to a given scenario, applying design thinking methodology. Students then presented their solution to the scenario at the end of the program.  The mentors also shared their own career journeys and challenges, allowing students to consider a wider range of options for the future.

The students, despite the challenges of remote learning and a staggered return to school, managed both sessions with focus and application.  Their behaviour and interactions with their mentors were exemplary and, despite some technology issues, showed resilience and confidence. I was very proud to have been part of the program and receive such positive feedback from the mentors and program facilitators.  Well done to the students involved!
