Junior School Report

The Junior School students have settled back into on-site learning remarkably well after a considerable amount of remote learning. It has been fantastic having all of our students back on-site full time, and watching them re-engage with their learning and re-building their social connections.

With restrictions easing, this week we were able to hold our first sub school assembly with all students in Years 7 – 9 in attendance. The purpose of this assembly was to congratulate all students for their efforts during remote learning. Additionally, we also took the opportunity to recognise a select few students who displayed fantastic efforts in their learning, attendance and participation in extra curricular activities throughout Term 3.

During Term 3, the College organised a range of competitions in our efforts to keep the community connected and lift spirits whilst in lockdown. These competitions involved guessing the famous dog, styling a crazy hair do, and testing their knowledge on all things science. The winners for these competitions were:

Harrison Voysey

Jack Harper

Cooper Tudor

Maddi Gardner

Harper Allan

Trinity Ward

Jenna Cook

Heath Agar

Zac Bissett

Emma Foden

Abi Sathyaseelan

Our final award was for a small group of Year 9 students who were recognised nationally for achieving the highest growth in NAPLAN results for 2021. Our students displayed growth in a variety of areas such as Literacy, Numeracy, and Reading. We are extremely proud of these students especially given the interrupted and challenging two years of education they have had.

Well done to the following students:

Heath Agar

Krista Bartholomew

Sebastian Bennett

Harrison Voysey

Charlotte Bishop

Hayley Mason

Loren Watson

We are rapidly hurtling towards the end of the year however the remaining weeks of Term 4 will prove to be extremely busy for our junior school students. Students are working towards finishing off their final assessment tasks, and learning the last components of their curriculum for the year. It is important for students to continue to remain focused on their learning for the remainder of the year. We look forward to the finishing the year altogether and celebrating our achievements in what has been a challenging and unique 2021.
