Library News

This term the Library has welcomed Estelle Lendfers as our permanent Library Technician. Estelle has come from the Geelong Regional Library Service and is a very keen YA reader. She looks forward to meeting you all, so please drop in and say hi!

We hope that everyone has enjoyed reading their library books and are eager to exchange them for the brand-new ones we’ve been buying during the lockdowns. We welcome student suggestions for books, and aim to have books that appeal across our student cohorts, so drop by and check out the new Graphic Novels, Non- Fiction and Fiction that we’ve brought in since you were last in the Library.

Our clubs have been running virtually, but we’ve been fortunate that Mr Marr has been able to continue Dungeon Master Boot Camp in person since the year 7's have returned to school. This group meets at Wednesday lunchtimes to discuss and develop adventures. This group is for experienced and new Dungeon Masters. For further information please email libstaff@ballaraths.net

A new Club – the Board Game Club is welcoming new members. Run by the fabulous Ms Bell, and ably assisted by year 7's Em Wright and Seth Ware, this club is for people who love board games and want to make new friends. A sign-up sheet is located at the Library Desk, as numbers are limited due to COVID restrictions.

Chess Club, The Adventurer’s Club, Junior and Senior Book Clubs will hopefully be able to resume meeting in person soon. We’ve enjoyed some great times while meeting virtually, but it will be lovely to see everyone in person again.

We are closing the Library on December 1st in preparation for our big move back into the ground floor of the Sheehan Building. This means all library books will be due back to us by the November 30th. We will relocate our clubs, but it will mean that students will no longer be able to access the Library during recess and lunch times after the December 1st.
