Parents' Assocation (PA)

Welcome to the last school term of 2021! Did you join the Magic show with Anthony De Masi last Friday? It was amazing and he was so funny, we really enjoyed it. Thank you Syndal for organising this show to celebrate back-to-school in Term 4.

PA would like to take this opportunity to thank you for participating and volunteering in any of our school events in 2020 and 2021, I know it has been challenging, hasn't it? I'm sure we all have done our very best to support our students.

Invitations are now open to join the Committee of the Parents' Association

PA Committee 2022 is now open for any parents/carers to join. Are you interested in joining us as a Committee Member or an Office Bearer? DON'T worry about attending meetings, you DON'T need to. It's all about HOW you would like to participate, NOT about what you need to do :) Want to know more?  Click here to check out the PA Introduction.

The Parents' Association (PA) Annual General Meeting (AGM) is to be held on 25th November at 6:30pm via Webex.  Everyone is welcome to attend and hear the highlights of the year 2021!

** Why is PA Committee Important? **

As a voluntary-based association we are run by a committee who are parents and carers of students at our school, just like you. Our aim is to build a positive community and school spirit, support the Principal and School Council, and represent the voice of parents and the local community by facilitating communication between parents, friends and the school. The Book of Achievements 2020 shows you about the PA’s events throughout the Covid year last year. Being a Committee Member is a rewarding role and a wonderful way to give back to the community and our school!

** How can I participate? **

You can always choose the level of participation that you are comfortable with. However, with Committee Members leaving Syndal at the end of this year, I encourage you to consider joining us as a Committee Member or take up an Office Bearer role – share your skills and experience to achieve our school's mission “Learning Together Towards Tomorrow”.

In order to run the PA legally and effectively, we need a minimum of 6 parents to join the Committee as Registered Members and 3 Office Bearers. We have regular events to run throughout the year so you can always choose to participate when you want to. I understand that we are all busy parents and that’s why many volunteers and hands make light work for all of us.

** What to do next? **

If you would like to find out more about the PA or wish to express your interest in joining the Committee, please take a look at the PA Constitution below, you may also contact the School Office (syndal.south.ps@education.vic.gov.au) or Deane Lam, PA President (pa@syndalsp.vic.edu.au). To register as a Committee Member, simply fill in the form on page 6 of the constitution and place it in the box at the Office or just email a copy to us.

We look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you, Teachers!

Thank you to the teachers and school team at Syndal South who have been offering their incredible patience and support to keep the remote learning happening on-and-off in the past 18 months or more. We appreciate how teachers are going above and beyond proficiency during this time of remote learning, on-site, or a hybrid of both for now. Yes, it’s been a challenging time for many of us, and it’s always good to take the time to give thanks to a teacher.
