Speech Night 2021

A reminder as per the Especean issue of 3 November 2021, the College’s Annual Speech Night will proceed this year at the Sydney Olympic Park Quaycentre, Homebush on Thursday 2 December, seated by 7:00 PM for a 7:15 PM start.

It is an expectation that all students from Years 5 to 12 attend.

Quaycentre parking will be available in Sydney Olympic Park P3 lot only.

Entry doors to the venue’s Main Arena are scheduled to open at 6:00 PM to allow teachers, parents, carers, and guests to QR code and show proof of vaccination to Quaycentre staff before entering the venue. Please allow for additional time upon arrival as the entry process will be slower than in previous years.

College students and staff will enter via Door 5. Parents/carers and guests will enter via Door 2. Invited VIPs will enter via Reception.

  • All parents/carers and guests need to present proof of vaccination upon entry.
  • Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 who are aged 16 years and over also need to present proof of vaccination upon entry. Please contact the relevant Year Coordinator if this is an issue by Wednesday 1 December.
  • All students from Years 5 to 9 are under the age of 16 years and do not need to show evidence of vaccination.

Parents/carers who are not vaccinated are asked to drop their son/s off at the Quaycentre and then return at the end of the evening to collect them. Those boys will be supervised by their Year Coordinator and Homeroom teacher throughout the night.

All students from Years 5 to 10 are to be in attendance in full College summer uniform. All Year 11 students, all prize winners and some performers will be required to wear their blazers and they will be reminded separately.

All students are to report to their Homeroom teacher on arrival to the Main Area to have their names marked off and they will be shown where to sit. Students in Years 10, 11 and 12 who are 16 years and over will need to present proof of vaccination to Quaycentre staff upon request.

Masks need to be worn at all times inside the venue, aside from those who are exempt, and when on stage for presentations and performances.

Please note that the upper concourse level kiosks will be trading for snacks and refreshments for parents/carers only from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Parents/carers cannot purchase food for their son/s and then attempt to deliver it to them in the Centre as it contravenes our COVID-19 safety plan. If you need to feed your son/s, you can do so beforehand.

It is also important to note that full student attendance at the College is compulsory and expected on each school day up to 3:10 PM, Friday 3 December.
