From the Students / Classes

Prep J

This week in Prep J, we have been learning about Money. Students created their own cakes, ice-cream and toy shops. They designed their own creations and came up with prices for all their products. Prep K came to our shops with $10 and students sold their products to them and tried to give the correct change back. They worked well as teams to put their shops and creations together.

Grade 1

Our Grade 1 students had a fabulous time enjoying the Serendip Sanctuary Excursion.

Grade 3/4 - Colours

During our Literacy blocks this week the Year 3/4s have been exploring the idea of colour. They were tasked with the challenge to describe their favourite colour to a blind person, and were encouraged to use their senses to explain them. They were investigating the concept of abstract writing too, which has no particular structure. They used Book Creator on their iPad to design their piece. Here are a few.

Grade 3/4 - Erosion Dioramas

For our Integrated unit this term we have been studying all about erosion and how water changes coastlines and landforms. The 3/4s have spent the past few weeks designing a diorama to represent their knowledge about it all. They finally completed them and were able to showcase them for each other and celebrate their hard work. Here are a few photos that we were able to take of them.

Christian Studies

Over the last few weeks, the students studied the book of Daniel 3 and the book Job. The book of Daniel taught us that making the right decision is sometimes hard, no matter what the consequences, God will always be there with us.

Daniel 3:25 "He said “look! I see four men walking around in the fire, unbound and unharmed, and the fourth looks like a son of the gods.”

We learned from Job that bad things could happen to good people, but we should always trust in God and keep praying. For He is the way, and only by His hand can we receive what is good.
