This past week we had our LAUSD oversight, which was one of learning and growth for me. I learned so much about all the moving parts that go with an oversight from the prespective of the principal. It is very different from what I have experienced as a dean. One of the top takeaways for me was the importance of collaboration. We would not have had a successful oversight if it wasn't for the teammwork from all stakeholders. Parents, teachers, parent coordinator and support staff. Behind the scenes we had Jorge working on the binders with support from our regional teammates, Dustin and Liz and Sarah. Internally Rachel and I worked on a series of questions for the team along with a powerpoint going over our school goals, data, and highlights. At the same time, Vicky was gathering our parent team and preparing for the day. On the day of we had a team of staff participate in the presentation for the oversight team members then onto classroom observations with the admin team.

The oversight visit is a window into what happens at our school every day. Collaboration is happening at all levels, and is so integral to our work with our scholars. We rely so heavily on each other. Let's continue to build and strengthen our relationships with one another. In turn we will continue to see growth in our scholars both academically and social emotionally!
