Harmony Day

Wednesday 23rd March

Throughout Australia, Harmony Week is celebrated each March in schools, businesses and communities. On Wednesday 23rd March, COHR will be celebrating Harmony Day. The theme is 'Everyone Belongs'. Harmony Day celebrates Australia’s cultural diversity. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.

As part of our COHR Harmony Day, students will be participating in related activities with their classes and year levels.

We would also love our school community to get involved in these other ways on Wednesday 23rd March:

  • Wear a 'touch of orange' to school for a gold coin donation which will be given to Caritas.
  • Contribute to our whole school Harmony Day displays (parents too!)
  • Include a traditional food from your culture in your school lunch
  • Parents can join in by coming to a short assembly at 9am and staying on for a coffee and a chat.

In the lead up to Harmony Week, you might like to have a go at learning how to say hello or thankyou in  another language, find out what part of the world your parents and grandparents come from, or try making your national cuisine at home!
