School Captains Report

Hello MWPS Community.

The past couple of weeks have been going smoothly with the students learning to their full potential, having fun while doing so.

We have an upcoming event that we would like to talk about. Next week is Harmony Week. On Friday, we would like students to wear something that represents their culture or just orange - the colour of ‘harmony’. Any donation will go to Foundation House to support over 5,000 people from a refugee background. Throughout Harmony Week, we will be hosting special activities that are related to different cultures at recess and lunch. Buddy Stop is also up and running. The Buddy Stop supports students during recess and lunch to promote kindness and support social skills.

We asked some of our students the following question:

“How can you show kindness?”

Logan  (4W) – If someone is upset, I can ask them if they are okay and how I can help them.

Ruby (4S) – To show kindness I would welcome people in and be respectful at all times.

Evie (1R) – I show kindness by helping people and sharing.

Brooklyn (1D) – I can be kind by not hurting people.

Nevaeha (Prep M) – I can be kind by sharing because once a girl needed something so I shared mine.

Elizabeth (56D) - If you see someone upset you can always ask them if they are okay, and giving people random compliments because that can boost self-esteem.

Koda (Prep W) – I can help people and give them a present.

Diesel (56D) - I help other people with a task if they are having a tough time. I also show kindness by making eye contact with them.

Tyler (1D) - I picked flowers and gave them to the teachers to make them happy.

Have a great week!
