Year 9 PE

Students for year 9 PE this term has had opportunities to practice their athletics skills and techniques through the undertaking of 100m and 200m sprints, long jump, triple jump, high jump, discus, shot put, and javelin. The students have also participated in several weeks of badminton as they practiced and used serving techniques (including forehand, backhand, and overhead), and hitting techniques for overhead smashes and net drops.

On Friday March 18th, the students began developing their leadership skills by running lesson sports starting with tchouk ball. Students organised the lesson, identified and communicate rules and worked collaboratively with other students to develop techniques as the lesson leaders.

I look forward to working with these students over the last few weeks of the term as they lead lesson activities and develop their leadership capabilities.

Year 11 Legal Studies

The year 11 students this semester for legal studies, undertook an assessment task over the first half of the term where they choose a high-profile criminal case within the Australian Legal System to research. Students explored the case details, impacts, and sentencing information surrounding the case, and explored how victims of the crime (both direct and indirect victims) were portrayed within the justice and legal system throughout the case.

The students displayed their detailed analysis' in a variety of ways including essays and evidence boards.
