SENIOR GIRLS

On Monday 17th August Tilly played a great game of touch football for Mater Dei Catholic College in the Preston Butcher Cup Grand Final. Unfortunately Tilly’s team was beaten by Kildare 9-4 after a strong effort on the field.

A busy few weeks at the Boarding House with year 12 completing their Trial HSC exams, with all girls studying very hard for these.  Last Wednesday night we celebrated the Boarding House Farewell Liturgy and Presentation.

The girls all looked lovely and the night was enjoyed by all. Chloe brought her DJ deck and disco lights in to school  and hosted an impromptu disco for the year 12 boys and girls.

The girls were very excited to  finally receive their boarding jumpers last week.

On  the 3rd of September every one came together and  enjoyed hamburgers, red cordial and ice creams outside in the courtyard.

On Thursday the Year 11 girls received a special supper treat of hot chips, it made for a great study break and ended the week well.

A special happy birthday to Boarding Co- Captain,  Lily Burge who is celebrating her 18th birthday on the 11th of September.

SENIOR BOYS

Last Wednesday, the Year 12 boys dressed immaculately for the 2020 Liturgy and Presentation, with all attending, enjoying both the occasion and a delicious meal.

The Year 12 students have completed their Trial HSC Exams but there's still much study to complete before the upcoming HSC Examinations, with the boys working hard on revision, exercises and practice questions.

The Year 11 students commenced their End of Preliminary Course examinations this week. This is the first major examination period experienced by these students, with exams covering the work they have completed over three full terms. The Year 11 boarders have worked hard on their preparations over the last few weeks and have so far handled the exams well, supporting each other in the process.

Congratulations to Aidan Jones and Jack Kelleher on representing Mater Dei in a great start to the inter-school Hockey competition, with a 1-0 win over TRAC and a 2-1 win over Kildare, in which Jack Kelleher scored a goal.

Congratulations to Joseph Morton and Nick Madden for their selection in the Kildare Carroll Cup team.
