JUNIOR BOYS

With the College Oval having been closed for nearly two weeks due to recent rain it was great to see a  majority of the Junior Boys back on the Oval and running around with plenty of energy.

Recent indoor activities gave the Junior Boys the opportunity to be creative by decorating and designing a mug for either themselves or a gift to someone special.

Our Thursday Fortnightly Fiesta nights are proving very popular and our thanks are extended to Mr  Jody Siegwalt for his assistance and support.

What I like about Boarding School: I like the long lasting friendships, the meals and the unique education it provides.

What I don’t like about Boarding School: I don’t like having to hand my phone in every night and I would like to be  able to rest in our rooms more often.

JUNIOR GIRLS

Living away from home and dealing with community living, friendships and educational learning can bring stress to teenagers. The introduction of a dog into the boarding house can help decrease the anxiety. Therapy and reading dogs are increasingly being used  and research shows there is a definite benefit.

We are investigating this possibility and Teddy the dog has been visiting during activity time. There are plenty of offers to walk and play with him and he is more than willing to be part of the fun and games.

The change in weather has meant games on the oval in sunshine rather than shivering through court activities.

Teddy listens to Ms Robin and Ms S discussing the joys of looking after girls in boarding.

Another change comes to the Junior Girl’s boarding dorm as the new supervisor takes up the position.

The girls have met Ms S (Sheridan Gyles) and she has quickly settled to learning names and getting to know the girls.

Junior Girls Boarding mobile number stays the same if you need to contact Ms Gyles.
