Then & Now

Here’s some photographs of Ms Khanna in her younger years. At the time Ms Khanna was 19 or 20 and she was a catwalk model, modelling clothes for some of her designer friends. The photo in the blue sari was taken when she entered the Miss Chandigarh contest and she was the first runner-up. 

Miss Khana was born and raised in the Indian city of Chandigarh. When she finished her tertiary education she decided to move to Kenya because that’s where her sister was living. She lived in Kenya for three years and during this time, as well as teaching in an international school, she continued to model and was also in a short film! 

She met her husband in Kenya and together they decided to move to Australia. Initially they had a choice between Canada and Australia, opting for Australia because they thought Canada might be too cold (good choice!). They came to Australia with only two suitcases and they have built their life from this.

Although she is no longer a catwalk model, Ms Khanna still loves fashion and dressing up.
