Principal's Notes

2020 continues to be a year like no other. Today we return to fully on-site operations and we are excited to be welcoming back our Year 8 to 10 students and also excited and relieved to have all staff on-site.

Thank you to all of the students in Years 8-10 for your efforts, patience and resilience and thank you also to families of those students for the remarkable support you have given to your children and to our school.

Year 12 students are completing their final week of classes before commencing their intensive study week leading into the examination period and I can state with confidence that our school community and the broader Healesville community could not be more proud of the Class of 2020.

To the students of Year 12 this year –our community offers you every good wish for success throughout the upcoming period and we look forward to sharing those successes with you.

The priorities of the school for the remainder of 2020 are these:

1) Physical and mental health, safety and wellbeing of each student and each staff member.

2) Academic progress (learning). Our focus is on student re-connection with education, student wellbeing and developing the skills students will need to continue their education in 2021.

3) Successful transitions including supported and positive returns to on-site learning for all students, between year levels for current students, current grade six students into Year 7 and for our Year 12 students to tertiary studies or employment and any others leaving to enter the workforce.

Thank you to staff, to students and to parents/guardians and families for your incredible efforts over the past seven months.

This school has achieved remarkable results and we are extremely well placed to successfully navigate the rest of 2020.  I am so grateful for the support, goodwill and consistently positive approach of everyone- parents, students, staff members and the Healesville community.

Best wishes everyone.

Kind regards

Allan Rennick
