Year 9 & 10

Stories of Remote Learning Continued

I would like to welcome everyone back this term and look forward to the 26th of October where we should see all students back at school and this should bring hope and excitement for all.

In planning for the return to school for everyone, teachers have been busy preparing the work to be completed for the end of year. I encourage all students to ensure they are online and completing as much work as possible before this date to ensure a smooth transition back to face to face learning.

I would like to congratulate a number of students who have been recognised towards the end of term 3 for their efforts as they were announced as Lockdown Legends, some for the second time this year. Through all the challenges and disruptions, it has been rewarding to see the amount of students who have adapted and thrived in the Remote Learning environment.

We do also recognise that some students may have had a hard time through this period, as some teachers may have as well. As a result the return to school may look a little bit different as we plan some safe and fun activities for us to be involved in. Although the temptation is to dive straight back into work given everything we have missed, we need to acknowledge the social and emotional well being of all in a staged approach to learning.

Finally I wish to express my gratitude and thanks to all the teachers and education support staff in this time, it has been amazing to have everyone think on their feet and put effort into making this experience as normal as possible.

Well done to all and I appreciate your work, keep it up and stay safe.
