Principals Message

‘Culture trumps strategy every time,  renewal and trust of people leads to improved performance.’

Dear parents and carers,

We are at the time of year where you are asked to respond to some survey questions regarding all manner of things in relation to your children and our school. This survey goes out to each of the schools in the Armidale Diocese. If you are going to take the time to sit down and do the survey I encourage you to please be constructive.

We love getting feedback, whether it be critical or not. There is a really productive way to offer advice, make suggestions or show support. We really value the information you give us and it helps us in our decision making and plans for the future. We are after all, all in this together! Nothing before has made this clearer than the remote learning experience.

Our children's learning, welfare and happiness is at the heart of all we do and we strive each day to do it better than the previous day. Your constructive opinion will help us to continue to build a collaborative learning culture where the whole staff cares about the welfare and learning of every child.

Congratulations and thank you St Xavier’s Families!
232 out of 239 families took the opportunity to come and listen to their child explain how their learning was going and what their goals for the future are.
Well done!

The initial comments in relation to the student led conferences have been positive. You will receive a short survey this week to help us gather information to improve this process. The children will be giving feedback as well as the staff.

Sadly a few parents did not make the effort to attend a conference with their child. Whatever the reasons might be, some children have been left disappointed. They had practised and were so pumped to have the opportunity to talk about their work. We will be providing opportunities for those children to talk to an adult at school about their learning.

All our children need to own their learning, be responsible for it and to be proud of each small step along the way. You, as parents, have a vital role to play in this process, so thank you to every one of you who attended the student-led conferences, we really appreciate it and the kids loved it!

Kind regards,

Jen
