Reports and Learning Conferences

Reports for students from Prep to Year 10 will be issued via SEQTA today, providing an indication of students’ learning achievement at the end of Semester One. Reports will be released at 5.30pm to both SEQTA Engage for parents/carers and SEQTA Learn for students. We encourage you to take the time to have a conversation with your son/daughter about his/her learning progress during Semester One. If you have any difficulty accessing SEQTA, please call the College Office on 6216 7900 for assistance.

Learning Conferences, which are scheduled for next Thursday, September 3 and the following Tuesday, September 8, 3.40-6.30pm can be booked online via Parent Teacher Online from 5.30pm today. Individual login details will be sent via EdSmart this afternoon.

Year 9 Common Tests

All Year 9 students will participate in a Common Test program during Week 8 of this Term, Monday 7 - Friday 11 September. Students will complete three tests during this week in English, Health and Physical Education and Science.

The main purpose for Common Tests is to provide students with practice completing a concentrated period of tests or exams, in order to develop strategies and confidence for future exam experiences. The tests also provide students with an opportunity to demonstrate their learning, but test results are only part of the assessment evidence gathered and don’t carry additional weight in determining a student’s achievement in these subjects.

In the lead up to the Common Tests teachers in the subjects involved will guide students through test preparation and provide advice about managing the stresses and expectations of a formal testing period. There will be no other homework or assessment tasks due for Year 9 students during Common Test Week.
