Live great big beautiful dreams

As your 13 years of schooling come to an end, we would like to wish you all the best with your future endeavours. Mr Dawkins, Miss O’Malley, Mr Issa and Miss Cossetto would like to extend their best wishes to you also. They have expressed their pride in you as young adults. What a wild ride. The highs and lows over the last few years have created the people you are today - strong, independent young adults ready for the next chapter of your lives.

May we just start by letting you all know what a pleasure it has been to work with you as year advisers over the last couple of years. You have worked with a number of year advisers over your time here at Cecil Hills High School and you have seamlessly transitioned each time. This is something you should be proud of as a year group.  As a new member of staff at Cecil Hills High School, Mr Robinson felt really welcomed by all of you. This is a testament to your warm nature.

To think that in 2015, you were just starting your high school journey. Who would have thought in 2015 that you would all be dancing in front of screens, copying the moves of strangers overseas for entertainment? The mind boggles to think what the latest craze in another six years will be! Think about the advancements in technology.  We will all be greatly affected by this, meaning the skills you have developed here in regard to collaboration and innovation will be invaluable for your future.

The last six months have been incredibly difficult for everyone and many unprecedented events have been thrown your way. As we mentioned before, you have shown great courage and adaptability in your characters to deal effectively with everything.

The next few weeks will be paramount to your success in the HSC. Study hard and achieve the results you deserve. Work with your teachers in each of your subjects and show the world what you’re made of. For those seeking further education and those ready for work, we hope we have equipped you with the skills for lifetime learning. Never stop questioning and endeavour to improve your knowledge wherever you can.

You will hopefully look back fondly at your time here at Cecil Hills High School. May the friendships you have forged here last you a lifetime as well as the knowledge you have gained through your studies. We will certainly remember you; you have left a mark here that will not easily be erased.

May you all go forth and live great big beautiful dreams and may all you meet see the strength and value in each and every one of you.

Miss Fagan and Mr Robinson
