A Snapshot of Learning by Grade 5

During Term 1, the Grade 5 students have been immersed in a Health and Wellbeing Inquiry Unit. Throughout this unit, the students have been exploring areas such as Cyber Safety (keeping your personal information safe), Water Safety, Wellbeing and Mental Health, Bullying, Being a Good Friend and Road Safety.
To complement our Inquiry Unit, the Grade Five students were fortunate to participate in a Water LifeSaving Day at the Hampton Lifesaving Club. The weather ended up being perfect for a day at the beach! Some of the activities that students participated in were learning about life saving techniques in the water, rescuing each other and some basic first aid such as DRSABCD.
The Grade Five students have certainly had a very busy term already with Winter Sports Tryouts and Ash Wednesday Mass.
Dates to keep in mind for Year 5’s are:
- Wednesday 8th March - Nazareth College Taster Day
- Weeks 7 and 8 (Beginning Wednesday 16th March) - NAPLAN
- Tuesday 28th March - RACV Safety Squad (Road Safety Incursion)
Our thoughtful and dedicated Year 5 teachers have been making sure that students are engaged during class, promoting PBL expectations and ensuring that all students remember to be Respectful, Responsible and Safe Learner.
Our wonderful Year Five teachers for 2023 are Ivonne Lucas (Year 5 Learning Leader), Denise Do, Brooke Felsinger and Angela Babazadehortakand.
