St Simon House Sports Twilight Carnival- Friday 31st March

- Designed by Noah Kavanagh and Luke Spierings (Sports Leaders)

Our St Simon House Sports Carnival will involve all students from Prep to Year 6 who will be participating in a range of fun sport carnival races to earn points for their House and to ultimately be House Athletic Champions for 2023. This will take place on the oval of the school and we invite all parents to come to this event to cheer on their child/ren. All students will dress up in their House colours for the event to get in the spirit of the carnival. Further information will be advertised in the coming newsletters.

One key aspect that we wish to keep going this year is our annual event at a designated athletics track. This will be in Term 2 on Tuesday 9th May for only students in Year 3, Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6. This athletics excursion will focus on your child/rens track and field abilities and assess and celebrate their learning through the Physical Education curriculum. As we get closer to this event, an Operoo permission form will be sent out with key details of this learning experience.

St Simon Run Club

The Run Club will be up and running this year with the goal to work on the fitness and skills of students with short and long distance running.

All students from Prep to Year 6 are welcome to join us for morning sessions on Wednesday 8th March from 8:00am.

Students can meet the teacher running the morning session on the school oval at 8:00am. These sessions will not go ahead if rain is projected. We hope to see your son or daughter there!!!

Year 6 Camp Coolamatong Experience

This year, our Year 6 students will have the opportunity to attend a 4 day leadership themed camp at Camp Coolamatong. This will be an exciting adventure camp that involves a variety of water based activities, team based land experiences and indigenous connections.

We ask all parents to please sign the Operoo permission and fill it in with as much as details as possible regarding your child/rens dietary requirements. In addition, please make sure your child/rens Operoo profile is up to date with emergency contact details and other information that may be required while they're away on camp.

Knox Division AFL Girls Championships

We are excited to once again send our selected Year 5 and 6 girls to the Knox Division AFL Girls Championships. The championships will take place on Wednesday 5th April. There will be training offered before school to prepare our team before the championships. We hope your child can make these sessions offered to support them with their kicking, marking, handball and game plays skills.

In the event of undesirable weather conditions, the training will take place in the school hall opposite the school soccer pitch.
