Student Leadership Training Day 

The Student Leaders from across EDSC came together on March 9 to undertake their training on Leadership and Teamwork for 2023. 

A range of leaders from School Captains to House Captains spent the day at NewHope Baptist Church to learn about Public Speaking, Leadership skills as well as had the opportunity to plan their year ahead for their perspective groups. 

Past School Captains Boon and Megan visited to reflect and share their experience on Leadership, what it was to be a leader and how it has assisted them moving forward with their lives. 

Our Principal Mr John Roberts spoke to our leaders on the schools vision and also shared some words of inspiration for our young leaders, which was fantastic for them to hear.

In the middle of the day students mixed in small groups to enjoy a range of team building activities with tower building and a small role play amongst the activities which were undertaken. 

During the final part of the day, students moved in to their groups to plan the year ahead. This involved considering how they would engage with student voice and agency within the school, create connections as well as event planning. 

Students enjoyed a terrific day. The motivation, energy and enthusiasm was great to witness and we certainly have a strong cohort of young leaders amongst us here at EDSC and we look forward to seeing their work implemented during the course of the year.
