EARTH HOUR 2023: 8.30PM SATURDAY 25 MARCH
SHAPE OUR FUTURE
This Earth Hour, we're calling on all Australians to sign up to switch off and join a worldwide community of millions taking #TimeOutForNature. We need to take time out for our planet. Our environment continues to degrade at an alarming pace. Eastern Australia is among the 24 global deforestation fronts, and we are the only developed nation on this list.An estimated 200,000 trees are bulldozed in Australia every day. That’s 8,000 trees every hour.Trees are the lungs of our planet, and we need them to help reverse the impacts of climate change. Now is the time to press Pause and work together to protect nature and restore what we have lost.So make the time - whether it’s 60 seconds, 60 minutes or beyond the hour - to reflect on the incredible benefits nature provides us and create a better future for people and planet. Whether you’re an individual, school, business or community, together, let’s take #TimeOutForNature this Earth Hour.To help you take time out for nature, WWF-Australia and Tasmania Walking Company have teamed up to give you the chance to win a luxury walking holiday for two on the Bay of Fires Lodge Walk. Sign up to switch off this Earth Hour to go in the draw for this dream wilderness escape of a lifetime.
